CDW and CDW-G Achieve ISO Registration

VERNON HILLS, Ill. January 8, 2001 - CDW Computer Centers, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDWC), the nation's direct solutions provider of brand name computing products, announced today that it has earned registration to the prestigious ISO Quality Management Standard ISO 9002:1994.

CDW's ISO registration indicates the company's compliance with world-class quality principles published by the International Organization for Standardization, a network of the national standards institutes of 130 countries, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The registration extends to CDW-Government, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDW that provides computing solutions to government agencies and educational institutions.

"This achievement stems from our dedication to our core Circle of Service philosophy, which is designed to put the customer at the center of everything we do," said Michael Krasny, CDW Chairman and CEO. "ISO registration reflects our daily efforts to uphold our quality statement: 'Together we strive for perfection.' Coworkers throughout the organization surround our customers with consistent, high-quality customer experiences."

CDW's ISO registration is the result of a comprehensive audit by The Registrar Company, Inc., an independent firm authorized to evaluate compliance with ISO standards. The Registrar Company also evaluated CDW for compliance with ISO9001:2000 FDIS, a new quality standard still being finalized by the ISO.
