Industry Veteran to Lead Proactive Marketing

Vernon Hills, Illinois, February 19, 1998 -- CDW Computer Centers. Inc. (Nasdaq: CDWC) today announced it has hired Joe Kremer as Vice President of Marketing, a new position that will oversee CDW's proactive marketing activites aimed at continuing the company's rapid pace of growth.

An industry veteran, Kremer previously held a number of successful sales/marketing oriented positions during his twelve years at IBM. In his most recent capacity as IBM's Manager, U.S. Channel Marketing Programs, Kremer developed channel marketing programs that significantly expanded IBM's sales of personal computers. Before that, Kremer developed IBM's mail order business into the company's fastest-growing channel. In addition to his channel expertise, Kremer over achieved quota in every sales position he filled at IBM.

Kremer began his career at IBM as a financial cost analyst. He has an M.B.A. degree in finance from the University of Scranton and an B.S. degree in accounting from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
