CDW Again Claims Top Industry Ranking On FORTUNE's "Most Admired" List
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - March 1, 2004 - CDW (Nasdaq: CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to businesses, government and education, has earned the top ranking in its industry in FORTUNE magazine's "America's Most Admired Companies" special issue, available on newsstands today. CDW was also named "Most Admired" in its industry in 2002, the first year its industry was included in the survey.
"We are extremely honored to be recognized again by FORTUNE. In our view, this is a direct result of CDW coworkers' ongoing commitment to serving our customers," said John A. Edwardson, chairman and CEO, CDW. "With the emerging recovery of IT spending, we believe we are well positioned to extend our leadership in 2004. We will build on our positions as a key source of technology for business and the public sector and as a valued partner for IT companies wanting to reach these markets."
Considered the definitive report on corporate reputation, FORTUNE's "Most Admired" list is based on opinion research by the Hay Group consultancy, which selects the 10 largest companies in terms of revenue in 64 industries. The Hay Group asks 10,000 executives, directors and securities analysts to rate the companies on eight criteria that together make up the elements of corporate reputation.
In the Wholesalers: Electronics and Office Equipment industry, CDW ranked first in seven of the eight attributes measured, including Innovation, Employee Talent, Use of Corporate Assets, Financial Soundness, Long-Term Investment Value, Quality of Management and Quality of Products/Services.
For CDW, the "Most Admired" list is the latest link in a growing chain of honors for the company. CDW is the highest-ranking FORTUNE 500 company on FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work for in America," at No. 11, up from No. 13 the previous year. The company is a member of the FORBES Global 500, the InformationWeek 500, the BusinessWeek Information Technology 100 and Training Magazine's Top 100.
