CDW Named To Training Magazine's Top 100

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - March 16, 2004 - CDW (Nasdaq: CDWC) announced today it has been named to Training magazine's Top 100 list for excellence in the development and training of CDW coworkers.

"This award points directly to the connection we have built between coworker training and customer satisfaction. Our coworkers sustain CDW's reputation for customer satisfaction every day," said Maria Sullivan, CDW's vice president of learning and development. "In turn, CDW makes substantial investments to prepare them and give them the resources they need to excel and feel valued. Ultimately, it pays off for our customers, who can count on their CDW representatives to be responsive, well-trained and motivated to deliver on a day-in, day-out basis."

CDW's commitment to training has contributed to revenue growth, coworker productivity and customer satisfaction. For example, CDW's internal studies have indicated that one of its latest programs has helped first-year coworkers reach performance targets significantly faster than first-year coworkers in past years.

All CDW coworkers must attend CDW University, the engine for the company's broad and growing training regimen. Founded in 1991 to ensure that all CDW coworkers provided a consistently high level of customer service, it was expanded in 1999 to include leadership development. CDW University today focuses on leadership, sales, knowledge management, technology and performance excellence.

"CDW's development programs are tightly connected to its business goals and objectives," said Tammy Galvin, editor-in-chief of Training magazine. "What's more, CDW does an excellent job of ensuring that all of its workforce development initiatives actually improve real business metrics."

CDW joins such prominent companies as Hewlett-Packard, Starbucks and Pfizer on Training's 2004 Top 100, which is derived from the magazine's evaluation of detailed questionnaires submitted by more than 500 companies, along with follow-up interviews.
