CDW·G Named top reseller in Federal Government Market

Performance, other factors land CDW-G in No. 1 position in technology competitiveness survey

VERNON HILLS, Ill. March 22, 2000 -- In the fifth annual "Corporate Competitiveness in the Federal IT Market" study released on March 17 by Federal Computer Week, CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G) ranked as the leading reseller for providing information technology solutions to the federal government. The survey results were driven by government end-users, who rated companies on competitive criteria such as technical support, management, past performance, and price.

"Our unique approach of providing personal service with fast delivery and broad product selection has been well received by the federal government," said Larry Kirsch, CDW-G senior vice president. "While we have been servicing government and educational institutions since the founding of our parent company, CDW Computer Centers Inc., more than 15 years ago, the 1998 launch of CDW-G as a subsidiary company marked our growing commitment to this unique market. This survey indicates that our one-on-one relationships, knowledgeable service and lifetime, 24x7 technical support are what government IT professionals are looking for in a technology provider."

The magazine polled approximately 1,500 end users in the federal government IT community, with 46% from the Department of Defense and 54% from civilian agencies. Companies are selected to participate in the annual study based on product/service groups, prime revenues, GSA Schedule 70 offerings, known widespread product use, and substantial promotional efforts in the federal IT market. Participants to evaluate the competitiveness of a diverse group of vendors, including companies that specialize in providing everything from computers to software to telecommunications services to the federal government.
