CDW Promotes Oren J. Hartman to Vice President
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - April 15, 2002 - CDW Computer Centers, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services, today announced Oren J. Hartman is promoted to vice president - national sales and services. Since joining CDW in 1994, Hartman has served the company in several sales leadership positions, most recently as executive director - sales.
In his new role, his responsibilities include the creation and implementation of strategies to expand relationships and better serve the larger customers in CDW's targeted small and medium-sized business market. Additionally, Hartman continues to be responsible for growing the technology services division, which he was instrumental in launching in 2000. He will report to Harry J. Harczak, Jr., CDW's executive vice president - sales.
"Oren has successfully led the development and implementation of several strategic initiatives in the sales organization including our product category specialists, telephony and bandwidth product lines and technology services offerings," said Harczak. "In his new role, Oren will help create the model that will allow us to get closer to our larger customers with the efficiency of our high-tech, high-touch business model. We want to focus more attention on providing our customers with technology services, a segment that according to IDC reports is projected to grow in the U.S at an annual rate in excess of 12 percent through 2006."
Hartman joined CDW in 1994 as an account manager. He advanced to sales manager in 1997, followed by promotions to senior sales manager, general sales manager, and executive director - sales. During his tenure, he helped develop the company's proactive account management strategy, managed the opening of new sales facilities and launched specialty groups including storage, telephony and services. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and history from University of Wisconsin.
