CDW'S Average Daily Sales Increase 5.5 Percent in April 2006

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - May 9, 2006 - CDW Corporation (NASDAQ: CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today announced average daily sales for April 2006 were $24.088 million, an increase of 5.5 percent compared to average daily sales of $22.834 million for April 2005. Total sales for April 2006 were $481.8 million based on 20 billing days compared to total sales of $479.5 million based on 21 billing days.

Both the corporate and public sector segments grew average daily sales in April 2006. The public sector segment achieved 13.4 percent growth on an average daily basis and the corporate sector segment achieved 2.5 percent growth on an average daily basis.

As previously announced, the Company completed the geographic realignment of its corporate sector segment in March 2006. Accounts affected were predominantly medium and large business customers with 100 or more employees. Account managers impacted by the geographic realignment have retained their top accounts, while remaining customer accounts have been redistributed throughout the corporate sales organization based on five geographic regions. The comprehensive transition process, which occurred during March and April, included the introduction of approximately 53,000 customer accounts to their re-assigned dedicated account managers and product specialist teams. The Company believes the transition affected sales growth in the medium and large business channel in April 2006. The corporate sector sales team that predominantly serves small business customers with fewer than 100 employees was not affected by the transition. The public sector sales team was also not affected, since state and local government, education, and healthcare customers within the public sector are already segmented by geographic region.

Expected advantages from the geographic realignment include the enhanced ability to serve customers, drive new business, maximize account coverage, create additional ownership and accountability for the medium and large business sales teams, and align geographically with our vendor and service partners.

Product categories that achieved the strongest year-over-year unit volume growth for the month on an average daily basis included notebook CPUs, software, video, and memory.

The Company plans to announce May 2006 sales on Friday, June 9, 2006. May 2005 had 21 billing days and May 2006 will have 22 billing days.
