CDW Ranks Sixth On Nationwide "Best Places To Work In IT" List

Technology provider is highest ranked Illinois-based company

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - June 24, 2004 - CDW Corporation (Nasdaq: CDWC) today announced it is ranked No. 6 on the annual IDG's Computerworld "Best Places to Work in IT" list. In its five years of making the list, this No. 6 ranking is the highest ever received by CDW, a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education. In addition, CDW is the highest-ranked Illinois-based company on the list.

"We've developed highly automated systems designed around getting answers to our customers' questions quickly and meeting their daily needs," said Jonathan J. Stevens, chief information officer, CDW. "Whether it's our extranet tool that helps customers stay current on their software licenses or simply our enhanced CDW.com search engine, everything we do revolves around getting our customers the information they need, when they need it. And we give our people the tools they need to make that happen."

Members of the IT department receive IT-specific training throughout the year, in addition to professional development and business skills training offered to all CDW coworkers through CDW University. The IT department also holds periodic outings to help foster its collaborative culture.

In addition, all CDW coworkers share in the fruits of the company's success. CDW offers stock options to all coworkers, as well as a subsidized childcare and fitness center at company headquarters, a tuition reimbursement program, a paid day off for community service, dry cleaning pickup, and a charitable donation match program. The company also awards tenured coworkers with vacation trips when sales goals are met.

The 11th Annual Best Places to Work feature appears in the June 14th issue of Computerworld and online at www.computerworld.com/2004bestplaces. Since 1994, the weekly IT publication has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, this year Computerworld surveyed more than 17,000 IT workers for the list, and their responses factored heavily in determining the rankings.
