CDW Ranked Among Best Places to Work in IT

Ranking Marks Seventh Consecutive Year on IDG's Computerworld List

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - August 2, 2006 - CDW Corporation (NASDAQ: CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today announced that it ranked No. 47 on IDG's Computerworld "Best Places to Work in IT" list. CDW's ranking placed it among the top five firms with headquarters in the Chicago area and marked its seventh consecutive year on the list.

CDW also has been ranked among the top 40 corporations on FORTUNE Magazine's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list for eight consecutive years, a record shared with only four other organizations.

"The coworker friendly culture that CDW has built and sustained over the years is one of our greatest competitive assets," said Jon Stevens, Chief Information Officer, CDW. "We put tremendous energy behind providing a work environment that is fun, challenging and driven by a shared commitment to superior customer service."

The 13th Annual Best Places to Work feature in Computerworld magazine evaluated nominated companies on several measures: average salary and bonus increases, the percentage of IT employees receiving promotions, IT staff turnover rates, training and development opportunities and the percentage of women and minorities in IT staff and management positions. Additional information was collected on how companies reward outstanding performance, how retention programs are structured and what benefits are offered, ranging from child care to flextime and tuition reimbursement.

At CDW, coworkers benefit from a subsidized childcare and fitness center at company headquarters, tuition reimbursement for college and technology certification courses and paid days off for community service. Members of the IT department receive IT-specific training throughout the year as well as development and business skills training offered through CDW University.

Beyond benefits and training, Stevens cited another critical factor that drives CDW's reputation as a good place to work.

"Everything we do in the IT department revolves around getting our customers and coworkers the information they need, when they need it," Stevens said. "We give our people the tools they need to help them succeed in making that happen and we celebrate their success."
