CDW Announces July Sales
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - August 12, 2003 - CDW Corporation, (Nasdaq: CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today announced sales for July 2003 of $377.9 million, compared with sales of $386.1 million for July 2002. Both months had 22 billing days.
"We're pleased with our results for the month in light of the tough comparison we had versus July 2002," said John A. Edwardson, CDW's chairman and chief executive officer. "Our sales in July of last year were unusually high due to the exceptional level of Microsoft software we sold in conjunction with the Microsoft Upgrade Advantage program, which concluded in early August 2002. Total sales of Microsoft software and Upgrade Advantage were approximately 14% of our revenue in July 2002, compared with approximately 7% in July 2003. Overall, software continues to be our largest product category due to strength in security, anti-virus, and backup software. In addition, we saw an uptick in non-software sales in July compared with a year ago."
The company plans to release August 2003 sales on Wednesday, September 10.
