CDW Launches New Technology Services
New Custom, On-Site Offerings Enhance One-Stop, Multi-Brand Approach to Meet Customers' Needs
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - August 20, 2001 - Planning, managing and transitioning information technology systems can be a complex task for IT professionals, who often must seek multiple sources for their technology product and service needs. To help make the IT professional's day a little easier, CDW Computer Centers, Inc. (Nasdaq:CDWC), a direct solutions provider, announced today it is beginning to offer a host of new technology services. With these new services, CDW can meet its customers' IT product and service needs from beginning to end.
CDW is now offering a mix of custom on-site services, ranging from computer and LAN/WAN installations to consulting, project management, and even equipment disposal. These services join a newly expanded array of standardized services, such as extended warranties, on-site response and accident coverage.
CDW is selling third-party services performed by more than a dozen top name firms, including Compaq Global Services and DecisionOne Corporation, based on their areas of specialty and geographic location. CDW is in its initial stages of offering these services and plans to add more service providers to expand its offerings.
"This 'soup-to-nuts' approach makes us the only place an IT professional needs to go for solutions across the board," said Joe Kremer, CDW's vice president of marketing. "Our customers have been telling us they need support in all areas of technology, from evaluating current and future needs through deployment, management of their inventory and support in migrating to new systems. These new service offerings complement the product deployment and configuration, asset tagging and other CDW services that customers have come to rely on."
"It makes my life simpler to now have one place to go for such a wide choice of products and services," said Michele Ojeda, Technical Support Specialist at M & I Trust Company and a CDW customer. "My CDW account manager has been a valuable partner in helping me choose the right solutions for my needs, and I look forward to working with CDW to select the services that will help me do my job," she added.
