Dennis G. Berger Joins CDW as Vice President, Coworker Services
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - September 6, 2005 - CDW Corporation (NASDAQ: CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government, and education, today announced Dennis G. Berger is joining the company as vice president, coworker services, effective today.
In this role, Berger will be leading CDW's programs in coworker learning and development, benefits, compensation, performance management, coworker relations, and recruitment. He will also be a member of the Executive Committee, which sets the strategic direction of the company.

Berger most recently served as vice president, human resources, for Minneapolis-based PepsiAmericas, Inc., the world's No. 2 Pepsi bottler, in their Rolling Meadows, Ill. office. He was the senior field human resources executive for this $3 billion business with 11,000 employees across 19 U.S. states. During his tenure there, he assisted in the development of several incentive programs, re-dedicated the company to workplace safety, and helped enhance the corporate culture. Prior to this role, Berger served as a group vice president of human resources in PepsiAmericas' St. Louis office. Before joining PepsiAmericas in 1999, he held human resources positions of increasing responsibility at Pepsi Bottling Group, Inc., Pepsico, Inc., GTE Corporation, and other firms.
Berger holds a master of business administration degree from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis and bachelor of business administration degree from Northeastern University in Boston.
In connection with his hiring, Berger will receive 8,400 restricted shares of CDW common stock to compensate for forgoing restricted stock at his current employer. The restricted shares will vest in equal installments on each of the first three anniversaries of Berger's hire date, which is today, September 6, 2005.
