CDW Works with Community to Fill Trucks with Food for Hurricane Relief
'Road Trip for Recovery' Begins in Vernon Hills for Katrina Victims

THE BIG PICTURE: Chicago-area residents are being asked to help hurricane victims through a donation drive at CDW's corporate headquarters in Vernon Hills, Ill., all this week. CDW, a leading provider of technology products and services, is initiating the donation drive for hurricane victims, beginning Monday, Sept. 12 and will continue the drive through the end of the week. CDW's "Road Trip for Recovery" is working in partnership with America's Second Harvest, with the goal of filling a semi-truck, normally loaded with technology goods, with non-perishable, shelf-stable food items for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The truck, supplied by AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc., of Itasca, Illinois, will be parked in the CDW Vernon Hills parking lot, located on the corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Continental Parkway, for CDW coworkers, area businesses and residents to donate items. Contributions particularly needed are baby diapers and formula, enriched replacement drinks such as Ensure, individual ready-to-eat food with pop tops (jello, pudding, chili, etc.) and energy or granola bars (please, no chocolate).

The truck will be open for donations beginning Monday, September 12 at 9 a.m. and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily after that until Friday, September 16, 2005. Once full, the semi-truck will depart for a delivery point designated by America's Second Harvest.
