CDW Repositions Executives to Better Serve Customers
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - October 30, 2006 - CDW Corporation (NASDAQ:CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government and education, today announced new assignments for two executives to strengthen its sales operations and assure the smooth transition of its acquisition of Berbee Information Networks.
Steven M. Schuldt, vice president, Sales, has been assigned full time responsibility for leading all aspects of the transition of newly acquired Madison, Wisconsin-based Berbee Information Networks Corporation into CDW, including sales, marketing, information technology and operations. He will report directly to Berbee Chief Executive Officer Paul S. Shain and will be an officer of both CDW and Berbee.
On October 11 CDW acquired privately-held Berbee Information Networks Corporation ("Berbee"), one of the nation's largest independent IT solution providers, for approximately $184 million in cash. This acquisition enhances CDW's offerings of advanced technology products and services to address customers' more complex business requirements.
Schuldt was previously responsible for driving revenue in two major geographic sales regions as well as overseeing the performance of hundreds of CDW coworkers in the company's award winning sales force. He joined CDW in 1993 as an account manager and quickly rose through the ranks. Schuldt was appointed vice president of corporate sales in 2003. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois. Schuldt is a member of the Sales Executive Council.
CDW also announced the appointment of Maria M. Sullivan to vice president, Small Business. In her new role Sullivan will be responsible for strategic direction and management of the sales operations for CDW's small business segment in a nationwide market with 12 million potential customers. She will report directly to James R. Shanks, executive vice president, CDW.
Sullivan previously served as vice president, Learning and Development. In this position she was responsible for developing strategies focusing on organizational, leadership and performance improvement initiatives, including oversight of all corporate activities that provide education and professional development for CDW coworkers.
Sullivan began her CDW career in 1992 as the company's director of sales training and recruiting. In this capacity, she was responsible for recruiting and training CDW account managers. She is developed CDW University, which encompasses all sales, technical and management training at the company. Prior to joining the CDW team, she worked at Hallmark Cards, Inc. as a sales trainer after working as both sales executive and sales representative.
Sullivan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. She also is on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Training and Development.
