CDW Announces October Sales

VERNON HILLS, Ill. - November 13, 2003 - CDW Corporation (Nasdaq: CDWC), a leading provider of technology products and services to business, government, and education, today announced sales for October 2003 of $490.4 million, an increase of 25.8 percent compared with sales of $389.7 million for October 2002. Both months had 23 billing days.

Approximately 60 percent of the increase is attributed to sales made by former members of the Micro Warehouse sales force, who joined CDW in September in conjunction with the Micro Warehouse transactions. These sales are in line with the previously announced expectation that Micro Warehouse will contribute between $170 to $190 million to fourth quarter 2003 sales.

Double-digit unit volume growth was achieved in a number of product categories. Most notably desktop, notebook, and server CPU unit volumes increased more than 30 percent for the month on a year-over-year basis.

"We are very pleased with sales for the month of October, following our record sales in the third quarter," said John A. Edwardson, CDW's chairman and chief executive officer. "Both our corporate and public sectors experienced double-digit growth. While we are certainly encouraged by these growth trends, we remain cautiously optimistic about the future."

The company plans to release November 2003 sales on Thursday, December 11.
