CDW Names Senior Vice President Of New Government Subsidiary
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - November 18, 1998 - CDW Computer Centers, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDWC), a Fortune 1000 company and the country's leading direct solutions provider of brand name computer products, announced the promotion of Larry Kirsch to senior vice president for CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDW.
Kirsch will have general management responsibilities for CDW-G's sales and marketing efforts, including the national sales office based in Chantilly, Va. CDW launched CDW-G in September 1998 to address the unique needs of customers in the government and education markets in the United States.
Kirsch joins CDW-G after more than eight years with CDW. He reports directly to CDW-G Chairman and CEO Michael Krasny. When Kirsch started at CDW in 1990, he was one of only 15 account managers, compared to the company's more than 600 today. He assumed the position of sales manager in 1993 and two years later, was promoted to senior sales manager. In 1997, Kirsch was named CDW's first general sales manager, overseeing more than 500 account managers.

An Illinois native, Kirsch graduated from Ohio University in 1990.
