CDW Again Named One of The World's Best Performing Tech Companies
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - BusinessWeek magazine ranks CDW (Nasdaq: CDWC) No. 27 on its new list of the world's top 100 performing information technology companies. In its "Information Technology 100," BusinessWeek ranked CDW No. 2 in the category of Distributors.
"CDW is producing record results in the face of this economic downturn," said John A. Edwardson, chairman and chief executive officer of CDW, a leading provider of technology products and services to businesses, government agencies and educational institutions. "To improve further on this performance, we will remain focused on superior customer service. This means recommending the right technology products and services for our customers and getting it to them quickly, in most cases the next day."
For the "IT 100" list, BusinessWeek selects and ranks companies based on a number of criteria, including revenue growth, total size, shareholder return and return on equity. Despite the negative effect the United States' ongoing economic downturn continues to have on overall technology spending, CDW recently reported record third quarter sales and earnings. For the first nine months of 2002, CDW sales were up 8 percent to $3.2 billion, a record for the period.
In addition to the BusinessWeek "IT 100," CDW's impressive ongoing performance has earned it prominent positions on a number of other prestigious lists. FORTUNE magazine currently ranks CDW as No. 71 on its "100 Fastest Growing Companies" list, and earlier this year, CDW ranked first in its industry in the FORTUNE "America's Most Admired Companies" list.
The BusinessWeek "IT 100" list appears in the magazine's Nov. 25, 2002 edition.
